Obra Negosyo Expo Cebu
This expo showcases the best of the towns of Cebu and the Visayas, as well as its export winners and bustling industries.
But more than a showcase, ONE CEBU is the start of a vision that is shared by the Cebu governor, Hon. Gwendolyn Garcia and the aspirations of a progressive province intent to showcase the world its successes and creative products.
ONE stands for Obra Negosyo Expo, which in essence is what the event is about - an exhibit where people will learn about the best products and services of Cebu. CEBU stands for Countryside Enterprise and Business Upliftment which is a series of skills training by the province designed to encourage entrepreneurship and teach business concepts and creative product development. ONE CEBU therefore started off as a showcase of the training, and has since evolved to be a vision that the province plans to make into an international expo by 2009, thus making this year's expo as a test showcase or teaser of better things to come.
More than a showcase, ONE CEBU shows Cebu as its best, as it shows the cooperation and unity of the various industries and sectors of Cebu as it works together for the progressive development of the economy. The ONE CEBU is supported by not only the Mandaue Chamber of Commerce, but also by the GTH ( Gifts Toys and Housewares) , FAME ( FAshion Accessories Manufacturers and Exporters), CFIF ( Cebu Furniture Industries Foundation), HRRAC ( Hotels, Resorts and Restaurants Association of Cebu), CTTA ( Cebu Tours and Travels Association), NAITAS ( National Association of International Travel Agencies ), the Cebu Fashion Industry, Dept of Trade and Industry as well as the Dept of Tourism, etc.
In order to add to the festivities and participation of Mandaue during the opening of the Obra Negosyo Expo, there will be a showcase of cultural folk dances in the CICC in the afternoon of August 8, 2008.
